For what it's worth, there's this thing called the Castrol Index, which has been sanctioned by MLS to evaluate player performance using a secret algorithm. It's basically pretty obscure, and doesn't give much indication as to what the numbers really mean or how it can be applied across the positions and roles of different players. You can find the basic breakdown of the approach here. The final results have been tabulated, and Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes got the top slot in the league.
Again, I do not fully understand the function of the Index, so I am not offering the results for Chivas USA players as an endorsement, but more to report the numbers floating around. Enjoy!

At least three players who saw time for Chivas this season were not included by my count: Jimmy Conrad, Tristan Bowen, and Francisco Mendoza. I'm not sure why that is the case. Also, if you scroll to the overall index all the way to the bottom, there's some players who did not play any minutes and got on the index ahead of people who actually played. So again, maybe take the numbers with a grain of salt, but there you have it.
