Jorge Vergara is progressing in filling out the front office of his reorganized sporting empire, as a press release in Guadalajara has announced that Dennis te Klose (also spelled te Kloese) has been named Sporting Director of Chivas de Guadalajara and Chivas USA. If that name is familiar to Chivas USA fans, that's because te Klose previously worked with the club as director of football, where he ran the developmental teams (prior to the establishment of the USSDA Academy system).

Te Klose initially began working in Mexican and American soccer in 2003, when Vergara and former Chivas USA coach Hans Westerhof brought him in from his native Holland. In addition to working for Chivas de Guadalajara and Chivas USA in the past, he also has experience running the Academy for Tigres UANL, and has worked with the youth divisions of the Mexican National Team as well.

All things considered, te Klose has more experience with North American soccer than your run-of-the-mill Dutch guru, and he has the past experience with Chivas USA as well, and it isn't often that somebody who leaves the club makes his way back. What his new position will mean for his day-to-day dealings with the American club is unclear, however. Presumably, since it is a split position, Chivas de Guadalajara will take up the lion's share of his responsibilities, and I assume he will be working out of Guadalajara, so we'll have to stay tuned to the way it all shakes out.
