It's almost time for the San Diego Clasico. This year, Chivas USA are taking on Club Tijuana at Torero Stadium (8 pm PST). The match is taking place at the smallest university in San Diego, the University of San Diego, and the setting will be intimate. I haven't found any word of streams or television broadcasts of the game, so I'll try to keep the match updated on here and perhaps twitter. I am also sitting in the stands tonight, so game stats may be a bit hazy, but bear with me.
If you missed it, take a look at the match preview for this game from this morning. It's a friendly, but it seems both teams will take it semi-seriously, at least at first. With an hour to kickoff, the crowd initially looks to be pretty strongly pro-Xolos, but I know both the Black Army and Union Ultras are in to support the Goats. The proportion of fans will probably be more apparent at kickoff.
So, any predictions? Can the Goats gain bragging rights for the Northern side of the border? Will the Xolos look to impress the locals? Leave a comment below!
Arriba las Chivas!
