Another round of the SB Nation MLS Power Rankings is here, and Chivas USA remain in 13th place this week. The hive mind evidently believes Chivas are not a great team, but don't belong in the very depths of the rankings, either, despite losing 1-0 to the Philadelphia Union last week. If I were to make lemonade here, I'd say that the fact that the voters did not drop Chivas down the list means they are gaining respect around the league, and that last week's loss was somewhat unlucky and more of a blip than an indication that the team is truly awful. Somewhat surprisingly, the voters aren't convinced by the Union yet, either, as they remain in 17th again this week even after the road win. Of course, there's a lot of respect yet to be gained for Chivas, but this is a good step in the right direction so far this season.

The big movers in the rankings this week were D.C. United, who shot up from 11th to 6th after getting four points last week, and the LA Galaxy, who moved up from 9th to 5th after their sloppy victory over the Colorado Rapids (who just happen to be Chivas' opponents this week). Speaking of the Rapids, they tumbled down to 11th after being in 8th place last week, so the voters are not convinced of their inconsistent form thus far.

At the top, Sporting Kansas City retains the number one position again this week, even though they finally lost this season, while the biggest surprise, the San Jose Earthquakes, currently sit in 2nd place. I'm guessing a lot of Chivas fans aren't inclined to believe in the Quakes, but they are getting the job done and look like they deserve their position in the standings, and in the SBN Power Rankings.
