Well, the bump from the Danny Califf and Juan Agudelo trades lasted until the international break, and now it appears the hive mind don't pay much attention to Chivas USA, at least according to the latest SB Nation MLS Power Rankings. Despite the fact that Chivas have only lost one in their last nine competitive first team matches, they dropped again this week to 15th overall. Only the Portland Timbers, Philadelphia Union, FC Dallas and Toronto FC, respectively, sit below the Goats this week. And considering they have a bye week coming up after tonight's U.S. Open Cup match against the Charlotte Eagles, who knows, the league may forget about them and drop them even further in the coming weeks.

Whatever. If the hive mind and the neutrals around the league continue to discredit Chivas, then it will be all the sweeter when the club keeps performing. Assuming they can perform, of course. I suppose after the borefest of their last match, the 0-0 draw with FCD, it's not exactly surprising folks think Chivas are near the bottom of the pack.

At the top of the pack is the San Jose Earthquakes, who had a very good week of getting last minute winners in two matches. Real Salt Lake dropped to second, which isn't surprising since they lost two straight after crushing Chivas last week. You can say this: MLS is in complete flux at the moment. I don't see Chivas reaching the top of the heap, even if they win every match from here on out, but let's see the team get a winning streak going and then we can deal with perceptions.
