The latest SB Nation MLS Power Rankings are out, and Chivas USA have dropped two spots this week to 14th. The bottom line is that with the bye last weekend for the Goats, the SBN hive mind didn't have any memories of the team and figured it would be best to drop them. Hey, sometimes byes help teams move up, and sometimes it leads to teams being dropped. No surprise really that Chivas got the latter treatment. If Chivas beat the LA Galaxy this weekend, their ranking should bounce back, but the team needs to earn their reputation.
The San Jose Earthquakes still lead the Power Rankings, but below them, there seems to be a considerable amount of movement near the top. The good news is that with the season in the final third, the standings and power rankings are not solidified, and there will be a lot of jockeying in the weeks ahead.
Oh, and this week's opponent? The Galaxy are in 10th, even after getting a 4-0 pasting by the Seattle Sounders. You know, the hive mind doesn't know how to quit the Galaxy. Let's see if Chivas can shift the balance in their favor after Sunday's match.
