The Goat Parade: Gearing up for the New and Improved Website

Thegoatparade

Not too long ago, we revealed a new logo for The Goat Parade, and introduced some words from the founder of SB Nation about the changes coming to the network. The changes are almost ready to be revealed!

The big changes coming to the site will be in changing the layout to make it easier to find the content you want, and improving load times, so you can get the info easily and quickly. The content will be the same Chivas USA-related news and analysis that you've grown accustomed to, so that won't require any adjustment. Ok, I'll try to step my game up as well to reflect the SB Nation United era of The Goat Parade.

After the jump, I'll show you a peek at some of the changes you'll be seeing soon.

The biggest shift will be that we'll have something called a cover, which will feature key articles, at the very top of the page.

Looks pretty fancy, doesn't it? (Of course, we won't be covering the Lakers, but you'll see something similar with Chivas USA coverage on here).

We'll also be introducing something called "StoryStreams" on this site. If you ever check out the game coverage on SB Nation Soccer or various other sportwide SBN sites, you'll see that the StoryStream is a longstanding part of their coverage. Basically, this will give you the chance to follow along with stories that change in a manner of hours or days (like Chivas USA's will-they-or-won't-they trade for Danny Califf earlier this season), or to follow along with the full complement of match coverage. That way, you won't have to hunt for stories related to a news story or given match, as you'll find it all in what we think will be a convenient location.

Mobile versions of The Goat Parade will be overhauled as well. The layouts should include all of the elements in the regular version, which will be an upgrade from the current mobile version.

Comments will remain in the new SB Nation United layout, and if you're already signed up, you won't need to sign up again. If you haven't signed up yet to leave comments on the site, what are you waiting for? It's easy, free, and takes just a minute! Win, lose, or draw, don't you want to give your two cents about Chivas USA?

The launch of the new version of The Goat Parade is coming very soon. We hope you'll love it as much as we do.
