Jose Luis Real appointed head coach of Chivas de Guadalajara, Chivas USA have no replacement ready

Chivas USA proves to be a training ground for Chivas de Guadalajara once again.

Rumors over the weekend had it that Chivas USA coach Jose Luis Real would become the latest coach of Chivas de Guadalajara, and that is indeed what happened Monday, as the man known as Güero was appointed boss of CD Guadalajara for the second time. Officially, Chivas USA's release worded it that Real "stepped down" as Chivas USA coach, but that was just a formality, clearly.

More important to Chivas USA, no coach was announced to replace Real, and the club said one would "be named in the near future."

Real amassed a 3-12-6 record in his more than half season in charge of Chivas USA, matching Chelís' win total from the first part of the 2013 season. The team initially improved a fair amount after Real's arrival and the arrival of key reinforcements Carlos Bocanegra and Erick Torres, but they faltered badly in the final two months of the season and limped home with a dead last finish in the Western Conference and the second-worst record overall in MLS.

The news comes on the heels of Chivas USA Sporting Director taking the same post with Chivas de Guadalajara late last week.

We'll have more coverage of the coaching situation and front office moves at Chivas USA very soon. For now, what do you think of the move? Leave a comment below!
