Matthew Fondy wins Chivas USA Player of the Month Award for October

Fondy's effort paid off, at least when it came to Player of the Month.

As you know, the 2013 season is in the books for Chivas USA. The Goats finished the season on something of a sour note, losing all three matches last month, but that doesn't mean players didn't distinguish themselves despite the results.

In The Goat Parade's final Player of the Month poll of the 2013 season, forward Matthew Fondy won the honors in a landslide. The striker, signed at the end of August after a strong season with the LA Blues, played in all three matches, coming off the bench in two of the contests. Although he did not record a goal or assist during the month, the team only scored once altogether, and Fondy's work rate and obvious enthusiasm in getting the chance to play at an MLS level clearly impressed readers.

That does it for our monthly player awards for the 2013 season. Don't worry, however, as the third annual season awards are coming up very soon, and we want you to vote for your winners!
