Chivas USA Unveils New Away Jersey

The Goats are the last team to release their new jersey design this season. Was it worth the wait?

No, this isn't it. Read below.

During Chivas USA's media day proceedings today, the club officially unveiled their new away jersey for the 2013 season. The home jersey will remain the same as in 2012, but there are a few adjustments to the new away kit. Take a look:

These jerseys are clearly blue, they now have red for the three stripes on the shoulder and sleeves, and they no longer have the subtle striping of the last two seasons. Instead, there appears to be a vertical subtle blue piping, at least according to this sneak peak the club sent out earlier this week.

The other major change is that the Los Angeles crest has been added on the back of the neck of the jersey, along with the words "Rebaño Angelino" (Angelino Flock). After years of complaints that the team's brand had little connection to LA, the club has apparently listened, and provided a tangible connection to the home city. It is currently unclear if the club will have the LA crest on the home jersey as well this season.

And since the players wore pants at the unveiling it is unknown what color shorts the team will wear. In recent seasons, they have worn white shorts with the away kit, but we will have to see if that is the standard again in 2013.
