Major League Soccer has announced schedule rearranging for two upcoming matches. Of note to Chivas USA fans is that the April 7 match against the Seattle Sounders has been moved to September 4, in order to accommodate the Sounders' CONCACAF Champions League semifinal series against Santos Laguna April 2 and April 9.

The switch means that Chivas USA will have a bye following their match March 30 against the Vancouver Whitecaps, and the rescheduled match will come in the middle of a week, sandwiched between a Sunday game, also against Vancouver, and another Sunday game, against D.C. United. For their part, the Sounders will also deal with fixture congestion, as they will play the previous Saturday and following Saturday around the rescheduled match.

In addition to the Seattle-Chivas game April 7, the LA Galaxy-Montreal Impact game originally scheduled for April 6 has been moved to October 16, also for the sake of the CCL, as the Galaxy are in the semifinals as well.

Besides the rescheduled game, Chivas USA announced today that the game May 12 against the Portland Timbers, originally scheduled to start at 3 pm PT, will now begin at 2 pm PT. The game will be broadcast by UniMas, so I'm guessing the television folks had a hand in this switch. Still, if you were planning on traveling to Portland for this game, it is still on May 12, so no wrench in those plans.
