Here's some more good news following Chivas USA's 4-1 win over the Chicago Fire yesterday. Forward Juan Agudelo has been voted MLS Player of the Week for his performance in the victory, which included an assist to Edgar Mejia for the game's opening goal, as well as his stunning goal to put the Goats up 3-1.
The award is voted on by the North American Soccer Reporters, and Agudelo is Chivas' first player to win since Dan Kennedy picked up the award last season following his performance in a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC in Toronto. As you can see from the NASR's ballots here, Agudelo received the most first place votes, although Kennedy and Mejia both got some love as well.
Obviously, big congrats to Juan, and keep up the good work! You've got two goals and currently lead the team in scoring...you're on your way to having that monster season!
