Poll: Who will win tonight in US-Mexico at Estadio Azteca?

Kevork Djansezian

So, there's this international game today...maybe you have heard something about it? Mexico hosts the United States this evening in a crucial CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier (7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN and Univision). If you haven't been following proceedings in Mexico's qualification campaign so far, El Tri only have two points in two games, and sit in fourth place out of six teams. By contrast, the USMNT's 1-0 win over Costa Rica last week brings their total to four points, and puts them in second place at the moment. Of course, a Mexico win would put them right back on track, but the U.S. is trying to think positively. After all, they defeated Mexico 1-0 in the same Estadio Azteca they'll be playing in tonight in a friendly last summer, so maybe they can finally get the edge over their rivals?

Rather than go through the game myself, I'm going to refer you to some folks who have already done the legwork, and done a fantastic job at that. First, SB Nation U.S. national teams blog Stars and Stripes FC has a story stream devoted to the match, mostly from the American perspective, so be sure to get ready on that side, and check back as they will be adding to it up to, during, and following the match.

On the other side, SB Nation's D.C. United blog Black and Red United has a detailed scouting report on Mexico ahead of the match. The article's author, Jason Anderson, is well-renowned for his knowledge on CONCACAF, and he doesn't disappoint with this post.

And if all that wasn't enough, Noah Davis has a piece today through SB Nation's longform series, about US-Mexico way back (well, depending on when you were born, I suppose) in 1980.

With that, we want to know how you think tonight's game will end. Vote in the poll below!
