On Tuesday, Chivas USA announced the signing of midfielder Carlo Chueca. A former member of the Chivas USA Academy, Chueca spent the last four years in Belgium, first playing in the Anderlecht Academy (you may recall that team as Sacha Kljestan's current club), and then joining fellow Belgian Jupiler League side RSC Mons in 2011.

Chueca, 20, is apparently left-footed, and in the official announcement, is touted as a set piece specialist, among other apparent skills. If that is indeed true, he could fill a massive hole for Chivas USA, as their set piece service has been bad for most of the season, with no real player stepping up to become the go-to player in providing service.

Chueca is Peruvian, and there's little specific information on him floating around, as far as statistics. It appears he was likely a youth international for Peru, and did not spend a substantial amount of time in the U.S., besides his stint in Southern California playing with the Chivas USA Academy. But now he's back, and could possibly get minutes here late in the season for the Goats.

Welcome aboard Carlo!
