Chivas USA pulls off the upset of the week, the guys at What the Flock?! do it again, and another branch of the Chivas USA Academy begins to sprout.

Chivas USA did the unexpected in downing Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls at the StubHub Center. Henry could've had multiple assists in that match but Dan Kennedy denied enough opportunities to preserve the three points.

Jorge Villafana's new Chivas USA Orange County academy team, which is a branch of the Chivas USA Academy, is preparing for its inaugural season in the CalSouth league. A match was held between Chivas USA Orange County and Pumas Santa Ana on Tuesday night at Santa Ana Stadium in downtown Santa Ana, which is slated to be their home field for the season.

The Chivas USA Reserves pick up 3 points and a shutout on the road at Colorado.

In CONCACAF Champions League play, the Houston Dynamo defeated Arabe Unido of Panama 2-1 and Sporting Kansas City shutout CD Olimpia in Honduras by a score of 2-0.

Round 3 of the CCL resumes this week on Wednesday with Cruz Azul (MEX) at Valencia (HAI), San Jose Earthquakes (USA) at Heredia (GUA), and Luis Angel Firpo (SLV) at Club Tijuana (MEX).

This Thursday's CCL matches include Comunicaciones (GUA) at Caledonia (TRI) and Club America (MEX) at Alajuelense (CRC).

In Liga Bancomer MX play, Chivas is coming off of a 2-0 loss to Queretaro and will next face Toluca at Estadio Omnilife in Zapopan, Jalisco.

Chivas product Carlos Vela and Real Sociedad resume UEFA Champions League play this Wednesday completing the second match of the round robin with Olympique Lyonnais of France. Real Sociedad leads the aggregate score 2-0.
