It's that time again, to vote for the Chivas USA player of the month, this time for July. With five games last month, all under current coach Jose Luis Real, the Goats went 1-2-2, their best month pointswise since March. Not coincidentally, they also nabbed their first win of the MLS regular season since March, a 1-0 win that came against Toronto FC despite going a man down in the first half. Although Chivas haven't been able to get any points in the two subsequent games, the feeling is that the team still has plenty to show (positively, one hopes) in the final months of the season.
It's also worth noting that there were some arrivals and departures last month, as Carlos Bocanegra and Erick Torres both made their club debuts in the Toronto win, and Walter Vilchez played regularly before leaving the team. The transfer window is still open for a few more days, plus we haven't seen Caleb Calvert or Jaime Frias make their debuts yet, so we could still see more new players take the field in 2013.
So, as always, cast your vote from the players who featured in July, and please tell your friends and family to vote as well! The more the merrier. Furthermore, feel free to stump for your selection in the comment section below! Why did you pick that most deserving Goat? Tell us!
