Imagine the scene: benched for months, a rookie finally gets a chance in the second half of a game, while his team is behind, to get back on the field and try and do something positive. Within 22 seconds of stepping on the field, he receives the ball, turns around and dribbles through a tangle of defenders before burying the chance in the back of the net. It kickstarts the comeback to win the game eventually, and is the rookie's debut pro goal.
That, of course, is exactly what happened to Chivas USA forward Kristopher Tyrpak on Saturday against the Colorado Rapids, and now his dazzling goal is in consideration for MLS Goal of the Week for Week 31!
As always, it's a tough competition, and there are four other nominees in the running with Tyrpak. He'll have no shot if you don't vote! Cast your ballot here by 11:59 pm PT on Thursday.
Remember -- this very well could be the last weekly award a Chivas USA player is ever in the running for. If you want to see the Goats head off into the sunset with some kind of small honor, then you have to vote and get your friends and family to do likewise. Do it, do it!
