Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy drives Mercedes cars, at least that's what a commercial he made two years ago says. But could he be in line to drive a Lamborghini around town soon?
He just might, if he wins a driving competition against five other MLSers. A seven-part series that will air on ESPN will pit the six players against one another, for the right to win a year-long lease of a Lambo to the overall victor.
It's part of a promotional initiative between Continental Tire in the "What'Cha Got" spot. The players will test drive a Lamborghini with tutoring from a professional driver, Townsend Bell, through a course at an MLS stadium, and the winner from the Eastern and Western Conferences will face off in the finale on December 7.
DK will go against Graham Zusi, Sean Johnson, Giles Barnes, Stephen Keel and Chandler Hoffman for the prize. No word on when Kennedy's segment of the series will air, but the whole shebang begins this evening, presumably during the LA Galaxy-Seattle Sounders game on ESPN2. You can get more info on the story here.
Good luck to Dan the Man in the contest (if it hasn't already happened, I suppose). If you win, you'll be the envy of luxury car lovers everywhere.
