I felt it was worth laying out the plan for today's game, which is Chivas USA vs. the San Jose Earthquakes at "home."
Since this isn't a typical game, from all available indications, I'm not going to cover it in the same way as usual. I'm here at the stadium - the last couple years, the club has been kind enough to grant me a press pass, and I've sat in the press box.
Today, I'm going to try and get a "complete" experience, which could turn out great or a disaster. But hey, let's try something new.
I've been taking pictures so far today around the stadium, and hope to share them, if they turn out better than terrible. We'll see.
I'll watch some of the game from high up in the press box, and plan to catch some of it from the stands, as well.
The match report, as a result, may come a bit later than usual, between getting a feel for the game, actually watching the game, talking to supporters, and talking to players following the match. But we'll get something up. And if you have an opinion, share it in the comments section below.
On the flip side, anticipate a bunch of coverage over the next few days on this bittersweet occasion. We hope you follow us and continue to read in the coming days, weeks, and beyond.
As always, thanks to all of you for reading The Goat Parade over the years. This site would not be where it is without your support.
