Well, our boy Erick Torres garnered more votes than Columbus Crew playmaker Federico Higuain in FutbolMLS.com's "Latino del Año" voting, and the formerly-Chivas USA star has made it to the quarterfinals of the 2014 competition.
The 21-year-old is now in the final eight for the honor, and is up against another Crew player, defender Waylon Francis, in the current round. According to the article setting up the quarterfinals, Costa Rican players (and Francis is one of those) tend to get lots of votes in "Latino del Año," so you have your work cut out for you in making sure Cubo makes it to the final round.
Go vote for Torres here, and make sure you get your vote in by 8:59 pm PT on Wednesday, when voting closes. Don't delay, and be sure to tell your friends and family to support Cubo and hopefully bring home some recognition for a fantastic player during Chivas USA's final year.
