Though Chivas have not announced the loan yet, the announcement comes from Argentinos' official team page. According to them, Chivas did not pay a fee for the striker's services and the loan comes with an option to buy 80 percent of his player rights (which I believe means Argentinos would get a portion of a transfer fee if Chivas sold him on in the future).
Barrera was rumored to be a loan target of the Goats last week. He is a 22-year-old left-footed forward who can also play on the wing. His strike rate in Argentina isn't great, as he's scored three goals in 42 league appearances since 2010, but I couldn't find out his assist numbers in that time.
He adds to the growing Argentine contingent on the team, joining Mauro Rosales and newly announced signing Agustin Pelletieri.
Although Chivas haven't announced this deal, it looks like that is only a matter of time at this point, given the official word from Barrera's parent club.
