Ahead of tomorrow's 2014 season opener, Chivas USA announced they have signed forward Kris Tyrpak. The Goats' third round draft pick in the 2014 SuperDraft, Tyrpak comes from Houston Baptist University collegiately as well as the USL PDL's Austin Aztex.

The all-time leading scorer for the Aztex, Tyrpak won PDL MVP honors last season on the way to helping Austin win the PDL title. A native of Texas, he participated in the 2014 MLS Combine prior to the SuperDraft.

He played regularly during the preseason, but usually as part of a second string lineup or coming off the bench, and it seems safe to say he'll likely be depth to begin the season. It will also be interesting to see where he lines up when he does see action, as he appears to be something of a 'tweener positionally, though his scoring ability off headers is renowned and could provide a way for him to crack the lineup.

Tyrpak will be available for tomorrow's game against the Chicago Fire.
