MLS released the fan vote ballot for the 2014 All-Star Game fan vote on Wednesday, to be played this year at Providence Park in Portland against German league champions Bayern Munich on August 6.
Like the other teams in the league, Chivas USA have eight players on the ballot this year. They are:
- GK: Dan Kennedy
- D: Carlos Bocanegra, Bobby Burling
- M: Eric Avila (he's listed as a midfielder), Leandro Barrera, Agustin Pelletieri, Mauro Rosales
- F: Erick Torres
If you're keeping track, that's almost the entire starting lineup, featuring mostly players who have played all or nearly all of the Goats' games so far this season.
The biggest surprise to miss out in my mind is Oswaldo Minda, who is basically a lock in the lineup when he is healthy and not suspended, and is one of Chivas' very best players. But otherwise, this is probably the group you'd figure would be in the running.
The Goats missed out on having any All-Stars last year for the first time since 2005. So if you want to see one of the players from the team make the All-Star team, you have the power to vote them in!
You can cast your 2014 All-Star fan ballot here, and voting is open until July 11. You can also "vote" for forwards on FIFA 14 by scoring through them in the game (one goal equals one vote).
