2014 World Cup Daily: And so it begins, with Brazil vs. Croatia

The World Cup should be a fun ride!

Buda Mendes

The World Cup is upon us! Host country Brazil will open the 2014 tournament against Croatia this afternoon (1 pm PT, ESPN/Univision). The world's attention will be on São Paulo today and the whole of Brazil for the next several weeks. What will be in store for this tournament? Will the United States and Mexico advance from their groups? Will England be better than expected, now that they are no longer regarded as potential winners? What about Spain -- can they win their fourth consecutive major trophy and their second straight World Cup?

We'll have plenty of coverage of the World Cup throughout the tournament here on The Goat Parade and SB Nation Soccer, including previews and TV listings, information on the progress of the USMNT and El Tri, recaps and updates on the progress of Chivas USA's current and former players, and more.

Of course, we'll also continue covering any and all news related to Chivas USA, even with the break in league play (they still have a competitive game on Saturday, remember, in the U.S. Open Cup!).

So, good luck to the teams and players of your choice, to the Goats in Brazil, and let's see a good tournament!
