Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy wins MLS Save of the Week

Dan the man has taken top honors, thanks to you!

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Congratulations are in order for Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy, who won MLS Save of the Week honors for Week 14, with his terrific double save on Landon Donovan and Marcelo Sarvas in the Goats' 1-1 Clasico Angelino draw against the LA Galaxy on Sunday.

The honor is the second of the season for Kennedy, as well as just the second of his career (his other win came in Week 4, during Chivas' 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls).

Even better, only Save of the Week winners are in contention for the annual Save of the Year award, so DK has two entries so far for that honor. It seems this latest entry is sure to garner some real consideration come season's end.

Kennedy had a banner day on Sunday, because in addition to winning Save of the Week, he also broke Chivas USA's all-time league appearances record. It was also Chivas' first result against the Galaxy since April 2013.

Well done, Dan! You deserve it!
