Chivas USA announced on Thursday a change in the schedule of one of their upcoming games this season. Their lone regular season match against Sporting Kansas City in 2014, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 13, has been moved to Friday, September 12. Now scheduled for 7:30 pm PT at Chivas USA's "home" stadium, it will cap off a nine-day stretch in which they will play three games.
It's the second game in September that will have been rescheduled for the Goats, following a game against the Seattle Sounders that was originally scheduled for June 11, or right before the start of the World Cup, before getting shifted to September 3, a Wednesday.
Although the reason for shifting the Seattle game made some sense with the attention on MLS likely to be muted because of anticipation for the World Cup, there's no word as to why the change on the Sporting KC game. Also, there's no word as to whether the change will impact any local TV broadcasts.
