International update: Marvin Chavez starts for Honduras in 0-0 draw with England

Chavez leaves early due to injury, but it looks like he'll be ready to go in Brazil.

Honduras finished their World Cup prep on Saturday with a friendly against another World Cup-bound side, England, resulting in a 0-0 draw in Miami, Florida. It was a game halted just before the half due to thunderstorms in the area, which lasted about 45 minutes in all.

Chivas USA winger Marvin Chavez got the start in this game and played 61 minutes, before being replaced by Andy Najar after taking a knock. Chavez nearly scored off a free kick during his shift, but couldn't get the ball in the back of the net in what was a messy affair, punctuated by Brayan Beckeles' ejection in the 65th minute after picking up a second yellow card.

Following the game, Chavez was asked about the injury that caused him to exit the field, and he told Diez (Spanish) he was "fine," saying he was taken out of the game as a precaution, nothing more.

The result, while not a rousing win, will certainly give Los Catrachos a boost before the World Cup, as they lost their previous friendlies, to Israel and Turkey, two teams not going to this year's tournament.

Honduras' first game in the World Cup will be Sunday against France at 12 pm PT, and will be aired in the U.S. on ABC.
