Interested in taking in some international competitive soccer locally? Interested in cheering on your homeland or your family's homeland, if it's in Central America? How about watching a final of a tournament?

You're in luck, as the 2014 Copa Centroamericana is coming to the United States for the first time in its history, and the Coliseum in Los Angeles will be the site of the tournament final. Not only that, but that final will be part of a tripleheader, so you can see three competitive games in one, including the game to decide the winner of the Copa. Not bad at all!

The tournament, scheduled to run September 3-13, will take place in four cities, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, and LA, with the entire tournament playing together in each city the same day. So, that means the tournament will open September 3 in D.C., then will go on September 7 to Dallas, before concluding group play in Houston on September 10. The tournament's final day will be in LA on September 13.

The format of the tournament is two groups, with Group A having three teams (Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama), and Group B having four (Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras).

The final date of the tournament in LA will feature first a game between the third-place teams in each group (1 pm PT), followed by a game between the group runners-up (4 pm PT), and then the final (7 pm PT).

The top four teams in the tournament will earn entry to the 2015 Gold Cup, with the fifth-place team going into a playoff for another Gold Cup spot with the fifth-place team from the 2014 Caribbean Cup. The winner of the Copa Centroamericana will also earn a place in the 2016 Copa America Centenario, a quasi-joint CONCACAF-CONMEBOL tournament, which will also be held in the United States.

Tickets for the Copa Centroamericana will go on sale to the general public next Tuesday (July 22) on Ticketmaster.
