Chivas USA may be on a bad patch at the moment, but there was at least one highlight from their most recent game, a 2-0 loss to the Portland Timbers, that has gotten some recognition. Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy has been nominated for MLS Save of the Week for Week 22.
Kennedy stopped Will Johnson in the 62nd minute, when the Timbers' midfielder dribbled upfield during a counterattack and sent a curling shot on goal. DK laid out and pushed the shot around the goal.
DK has won one MLS Save of the Week award, in Week 14 for his audacious double save in a 1-1 draw against the LA Galaxy. Can he get a second award of the season here?
He faces some stiff competition, including two PK saves (and one of those comes from the Seattle Sounders) and both All-Stars, one of whom (Nick Rimando) broke the all-time shutout record in MLS last week. What does that mean? You need to vote and encourage everyone you know to vote if you want to see Kennedy win!
Vote here, and again, make everyone you know vote, too. Good luck, Dan.
