If you have been a Chivas USA fan for more than a few seasons, you likely remember big strapping forward Justin Braun, who scored 24 goals for the Goats between 2008-11.
Since being traded away from Chivas after the 2011 season, Braun bounced around three MLS teams in two seasons, before hitting a crossroads in his career this year. Eventually, the 27-year-old signed with new USL PRO side Sacramento Republic FC, where he's captain under former Chivas USA coach Preki and is helping to guide the new club to a very successful first season, on and off the field.
Braun's current team recently released a video about the Utah native, including how he broke into professional soccer (a pretty remarkable story, if you aren't familiar with it), his misgivings at having to go to USL PRO, and swallowing his pride in order to find some traction in his career (that included scoring a competitive goal against the Chivas USA Reserves in a win earlier this season). It's a well-made video and does a good job of telling Braun's story, much of which is in his own words.
