Chivas USA adding former U.S. youth international forward Brian Pacheco?

Looks like news of some sort may be forthcoming on Sunday.

With Chivas USA continuing to change their roster as the 2014 season enters its penultimate month, could a new signing be on the horizon?

Local youth product Brian Pacheco, who has been part of the U.S. Men's National Team U-17 set-up, tweeted the following on Saturday:

Pacheco played for Pateadores in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, and had been a verbal commitment to UCLA for the current season, which got underway this week. However, as he is not on the roster for the Bruins, he doesn't look like he's going the college route, for whatever reason.

He's 18, so it seems he's not eligible for the USSDA, although I suppose it's possible CUSA is reviving a U-23 team or something. In that case, he could be a pro signing, not a Homegrown one, since he has no time with Chivas USA's academy, but a pro signing. As a youngster, I'd imagine he'd be one for the future.

So, if this holds, Pacheco could be the newest Chivas USA signing. If not, it looks like there will be news of some sort surrounding this player, unless this is another Anthony Isom situation, where a player tweets he's signing with the team and the signing, uh, never actually materializes. Stay tuned for developments.
