Someone on twitter posted a rumor about Chivas USA striker Erick Torres on Thursday:
La MLS pagaría siete millones de dólares por los servicios de Erick "Cubo" Torres. Seattle Sounders o LA Galaxy sería su destino.

Translation: "MLS will pay $7 million for the services of Erick "Cubo" Torres. Seattle Sounders or LA Galaxy will be his destination."
We know there is a clause in Cubo's loan agreement that his contract can be picked up at the end of the loan, since CUSA president Nelson Rodriguez told us.
And since his contract is with MLS in the single-entity system, even if Chivas USA/LA2 ceases to exist, in temporary or permanent form after this current season ends, the contract option is still a possibility.
So let's connect the dots:
- MLS has an option to buy Cubo's contract? Check
- Chivas USA may not exist next season, necessitating a move to another club in MLS if he stays in the league? Check
- $7 million? Where have I heard that figure before? Oh yeah, we discussed it here, earlier this month.
