Once a Goat: Erick "Cubo" Torres starts and scores for Chivas...U-20s

Meanwhile, the first team drops three points.

Cubo: Doin' work...for a reserve team.

Erick Torres is back with Chivas de Guadalajara, on loan to his original club from the Houston Dynamo to try and help the famous club avoid relegation this season.

Chives coach Chepo de la Torre obviously really values Cubo's return, because he played the Mexican National Team striker...on the U-20 squad to start the Liga MX 2015 Clausura season.

That's right, Cubo was sent to the U-20s to play for Chivas against Chiapas FC, where he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory in Tuxtla Gutierrez. He wasn't the only El Tri player to end up on the U-20s, as Fernando Arce was also sent to the reserve team for the match.

Meanwhile, guess what happened to the senior team in Cubo's absence? Chivas lost, 2-1 to Chiapas, as Aviles Hurtado hit a late header to win it for the hosts.

It's not like Cubo necessarily would have guaranteed a win, but he's been in form and it wouldn't have hurt the cause. There are no indications that he was hurt, Chepo just wanted him in the U-20s. /facepalm

We'll see if he continues to be in the reserves or if he'll get a chance back with the first team. Here's hoping he won't be wasting his time on the shelf for too long, or else he should have just stayed in MLS. But we'll see.
