Once a Goat: Erick "Cubo" Torres comes off bench for Chivas' first team in much-needed win

Cuba plays, and Chivas wins. Coincidence?

Our old star Erick Torres is back with his original club, Chivas de Guadalajara, for the 2015 Clausura season, and in week 2 of the Liga MX season, Cubo made his long-awaited league return.

Torres entered the game in the 68th minute as Chivas defeated Pumas 2-1 at the Estadio Omnilife, on the back of golazos from Marco Fabian and Angel Reyna. Pumas got a late consolation goal courtesy of a PK from Eduardo Herrera.

Cubo didn't get in the goals in his return to the first team after inexplicably playing and scoring for Chivas' U-20 squad week 1, and in Univision's highlights package for the game, his only chance was a wild shot from about 35 yards, but Cubo played and Chivas won. Coincidence? Uh, well...he certainly didn't hurt the cause.

With the win, Chivas avoid hitting rock bottom in the relegation rankings, as Puebla, who also won this weekend, are in last place, with Chivas right behind. 15 more games to determine their fate for the next two seasons!
