Ok, we've been doing a lot of "Once a Goat" posts lately, but we've got some news coming down the pike, and this piece of news can't be passed up, especially since it concerns the now-dead Chivas USA academy.
Defender Brendan Hines-Ike, who played two years with the CUSA academy before heading to college, has signed a professional deal with Swedish first division side Orebro SK. The 21-year-old, reportedly getting interest from MLS teams before the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, signed a four-year deal with Orebro.
Hines-Ike, whose brother Ian also played in Chivas USA's academy, split his college years playing for Creighton and South Florida. While Ian appears to be out of soccer now, Brendan is joining the likes of Marky Delgado and Ben Spencer, among others, in signing pro deals after playing for the junior Goats.
Best of luck to Brendan in his new adventure.
