CONCACAF unveiled the full draw and schedule for the 2015 Gold Cup on Thursday. The United States will host the bulk of the games, with Toronto hosting a couple games as well, for the first time.
At any rate, though we already knew the StubHub Center in Carson would be a Gold Cup venue this year, we now know which games will take place at the Galaxy's stadium. The venue will host a Group B doubleheader, on July 8. The first game will be Costa Rica vs. Jamaica at 5 pm PT, followed by El Salvador vs. Canada at 7:30 pm PT.
Locals may wonder why the United States or Mexico aren't playing in Southern California this time around, but to the tournament organizers' credit, they tend to move the countries around the United States, which seems fair overall. At any rate, Costa Rica are entering the tournament as the best bet outside the USMNT and Mexico to win the tournament, and they would be the first country to break the duopoly in the Gold Cup if they captured the title.
If you want to attend the July 8 doubleheader (group stage tickets are for doubleheaders only), tickets go on sale next Thursday, at 10 am PT, on the Gold Cup website, GoldCup.org.
