I know I've been driving the Didier Crettenand hype train so far this season, but it seems each week like it's warranted, and USL agreed yet again, as the Orange County Blues midfielder was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 7of the season. It is Crettenand's third selection to the Team of the Week already this season, as he was also recognized for Week 4 and Week 6, and it's the fourth consecutive week at least one Blues player has garnered Team of the Week honors.

The Swiss native had what can be considered his first off game since joining the Blues on Friday against Seattle Sounders 2, in what was a loss, but bounced back in a major way two days later against Portland Timbers 2, scoring an absolute golazo to break the scoreless deadlock and lead the Blues to a 2-0 win, and it was that performance that was recognized by the league.

In addition to Crettenand, Blues winger Denzel Slager was named to the Team of the Week bench this week, as he had probably the most consistent performance among his teammates for the week, notching an assist against Seattle and scoring a goal against Portland. Also, the player who jumpstarted Sounders 2's comeback against the Blues, forward Sam Garza, was selected to the bench for the week.
