Two wins in a row, and things are suddenly looking up for the Orange County Blues, who are back in action for a very momentous day in American soccer, on Sunday when they head east to take on Arizona United SC. The teams have split the season series so far, with the previous games coming in Irvine, so it will be Orange County's first trip to Scottsdale Stadium, United's home this season.
The match is the first of a four-game road run for the Blues, and continues a busy stretch of double-game weeks after a sparse schedule in June. OC are on an uptick in form of late, having won their last two games, including on Wednesday against the OKC Energy. Christofer Ramirez is back in form and that's good news for the Blues. Considering the fact that Orange County have played Arizona pretty well in both meetings so far this season, there's cause for optimism, and the Blues will want to continue to pick up points to remain in the playoff positions.
But Arizona are on a very similar run of form to the Blues and sit just three points behind the California club. In reality, this will probably be a pretty close game, and a single play or decision could prove to be the turning point on the night. Still, if Orange County are playing well, they have to believe they can grab a victory, and that would help solidify their postseason bonafides even further.
