After a pretty successful four-point road trip over the weekend in Cascadia, the Orange County Blues are sitting in a pretty good spot in the USL Western Conference, and a Blues player has been selected to the USL Team of the Week once again. This time, it's a repeat selection, as defender Brenton Griffiths received his second nod on the TOTW this season and second in as many weeks.
Griffiths helped OC shut out the Seattle Sounders 2 on the road in a 1-0 Blues win, before scoring his third goal of the season, and second goal in three games, in a 1-1 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, also away from home, on Sunday.
No other Blues were selected to the team or bench this week, though former Blues Rodrigo Lopez and George Davis IV made the Team of the Week bench and team, respectively, while former Chivas USA forwards Justin Braun and Ryan Finley also made the Team of the Week.
Congrats to Brenton on getting the recognition yet again this week.
