Another signing was announced by local USL side Orange County Blues on Friday, as midfielder Pavle Popara is officially on board to return for the 2016 season.
Popara, 28, joined the team midseason and slotted into the lineup right away, scoring three goals and three assists in 12 total appearances across all competitions for the Blues in 2015 after spending his career previously exclusively in Europe. The Serbian's skill and experience was effective with the club and on that basis it's little surprise he's re-signed for next season.
"Pavle made a big contribution to our team at the end of last season," said OC head coach and general manager Oliver Wyss in a team statement. "He brings many years of professional experience and we are excited to build on the success we had with him last year."
"I am very happy to return to Orange County for the 2016 season," said Popara. "I'm excited to get back to work and compete for the USL Championship."
Popara joins Christopher Santana, Nikola Ilich, Ryan Felix, Tyler Feeley and Brandon Miller as the players announced by the Blues for the upcoming season.
