The Orange County Blues began their preseason stint in Casa Grande, Arizona on Monday with a preseason game against NASL side Indy Eleven. The Southern Californians came out the 1-0 winner, courtesy of a Trevin Caesar goal in the 36th minute. It marks the third consecutive preseason match in which Caesar has scored for his new side, which seems like a good omen heading into the season.
According to Indy's recap of the game, the match was physical and OC apparently favored a long-ball approach in attack in windy conditions. The recap notes that Caesar's goal came from a 60-yard ball over the top, as he beat the defenders to it, and chipped Indy goalkeeper Jon Busch.
And that's pretty much it for available info on the game from the Blues' perspective. The team continues their preseason sojourn in Arizona this week, and will face their first fellow USL side of the preseason on Thursday against Arizona United SC at Casa Grande. We'll of course have coverage as we get our hands on it.
