The Orange County Blues put their three-game winning streak on the line on Sunday at Anteater Stadium against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (4 pm PT). The game should be a good test for the Blues, who have been rolling in recent weeks and will look to keep pace with the sides atop the Western Conference, LA Galaxy II and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.
Switchbacks FC are coming off a midweek clash against the Galaxy II, in which they dropped a 3-2 game. Unsurprisingly, they are near the top of the standings again this season, currently sitting just a point and spot behind the Blues in the Western Conference. And with the likes of former OC players Josh Suggs and Billy Thompson making the jump to Colorado Springs this offseason, we may see some stronger feelings than in most games. Add to that the fact that the all-time series between the teams is split at a game apiece, and the Blues' loss in that was a 5-0 blowout loss on the road, their worst loss of 2015, and I would expect these teams will be up for the challenge.
Tale of the Tape:
OC Blues: 10 points (3-2-1), 3rd place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 0 (5/5); Last five games: W-W-W-D-L
Switchbacks FC: 9 points (3-2-0), 4th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 2 (7/5); Last five games: L-W-L-W-W
