The Orange County Blues will seek to start a winning streak on Saturday evening, as they take on Arizona United SC on the road (7:30 pm PT). The teams are meeting for the second time this season, with OC having a star-crossed night after hitting the post and crossbar a bunch of times in a 1-1 comeback draw at Anteater Stadium last month.
The Blues are coming off their best result of the season, a 5-2 blowout win over Seattle Sounders 2. For a team that has struggled to score, seeing that many goals, and coming from a variety of players, raises hopes that the attack is finally starting to click.
Arizona, meanwhile, have struggled in year one of the Frank Yallop era, and their lack of scoring is a major concern, too. Both teams are in the middle of the pack in goals allowed in the Western Conference, but as they are both in the bottom third of the conference table, the scoring struggles appear to be the big issue. I don't foresee a shootout in this game as a result, but OC surprised us last time out and maybe they really have figured things out. In that case, if they can put up two or three goals, they should be in great shape for three points in this game.
Tale of the Tape:
OC Blues: 15 points (4-4-3), 10th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -2 (13/15); Last five games: W-D-L-D-L
Arizona United: 9 points (2-5-3), 14th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -7 (7/14); Last five games: L-L-D-D-D
