The Orange County Blues begin their Texas road trip with a Thursday match against San Antonio FC on Thursday evening, the second meeting of the season (and all-time) between the clubs (5:30 pm PT).
Each team will seek to begin a winning streak with this game, something that has been in short supply for both teams. The Blues are technically in the playoff places at the moment; San Antonio are third-bottom but are well within the chasing pack in the conference. Midweek games are always a challenge but if one side can grab the win, it will put them on firmer footing in the middle section of the season.
In the last game between these teams, the Blues picked up their first win of the season against the expansion SAFC squad at Anteater Stadium courtesy of a Didier Crettenand penalty back in April.
And the Blues will be missing forwards Akwafei Ajeakwa, Trevin Caesar and midfielder Ivan Mirkovic, all of whom are suspended for this game.
Tale of the Tape:
OC Blues: 18 points (5-5-3), 8th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -3 (14/17); Last five games: W-L-W-D-L
San Antonio FC: 14 points (3-5-5), 13th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 1 (14/13); Last five games: W-D-L-D-L
