The Orange County Blues' next game is here, as they host Sacramento Republic at Anteater Stadium this afternoon (4 pm PT).
Both teams are coming off losses and will look to rectify that with three vital points. For the Blues, their consistently inconsistent form has gotten them to the middle of the table, but the earlier matches this weekend have dropped them out of the playoff places and a loss could leave them looking up at the contenders.
Sacramento, while a team that OC comfortably beat 1-0 at Bonney Field earlier this season, just snapped a nine-game unbeaten streak in the league, so their prospects have brightened since the first meeting between the sides and they are near the top of the Western Conference standings.
Still, OC have played Sacramento well since Oliver Wyss took over the Blues, and the Blues' form would predict a win or draw in this one. It's likely to be a tight game, but even with their up-and-down results, Orange County appear to have a good shot to grab a point or three.
Tale of the Tape:
OC Blues: 21 points (6-7-3), 10th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -4 (19/23); Last five games: L-W-L-W-L
Sac Republic: 28 points (8-4-4), 3rd place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 6 (20/14); Last five games: L-W-D-W-W
