How to Watch Orange County Blues vs. LA Galaxy II

The final regular season edition of the 405 Derby is here.

The final chapter of the 2016 regular season 405 Derby is here, as the Orange County Blues host LA Galaxy II for the fourth meeting between the local rivals this season (7 pm PT).

The teams are going for the season series in this game, as they have a 1-1-1 record against each other, and that means this is the Blues’ chance to take the season series for the first time, as LA have had very much the better of them for most of the history of the rivalry.

Believe it or not considering the teams’ form throughout the season, but they are closer than they’ve ever been in the standings this season, with Galaxy II just two places ahead of OC, and the Blues are in better form over the past five games. Of course, this narrative building may just set up an easy Galaxy II win, but it really seems like the Blues are in as good shape as they’ve been in getting another win over the Carson side, not least because they won the last outing between the sides.

No Blues suspensions this week, but LA will be without leading scorer Jack McBean for the rest of the season, as his loan to English third-division side Coventry City was announced. While the Galaxy II would probably be in better shape if he was around, they have been without him for some time so it’s not like his loss will be a big shock to the team.

So what happens? Will the Blues grab another win, taking the Derby this year and firming up their playoff hopes? Will the Galaxy II dash the other SoCal team’s hopes? Or will a draw be in the cards? We’ll find out tonight.

Tale of the Tape:

OC Blues: 31 points (9-11-4), 7th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -7 (30/37); Last five matches: L-W-L-W-W

LA Galaxy II: 36 points (9-4-9), 5th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 12 (43/31); Last five matches: D-L-L-W-W
