Orange County Blues forward Trevin Caesar has been called up by Trinidad and Tobago for the Caribbean country’s next two CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, taking place Sept. 2 against Guatemala and Sept. 6 against the U.S.
The 27-year-old, who has six caps to date, scored a brace for T&T earlier this year in a World Cup qualifier against St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He hasn’t been a starter for his country, but could be a bench option for Stephen Hart.
While the Blues are off this weekend, Caesar will have to miss the next USL game, Sept. 3 against Sacramento Republic in NorCal. Considering he’s tied for the team lead in goals and Orange County needs every point they can get to ensure qualification for the playoffs, he will be missed.
But that’s how it goes for a team when you have internationals, and sometimes a player needing to miss a game while on national team duty is the price you pay for having that player. Congrats and best of luck to Trevin while with T&T.
