It’s official: The Orange County Blues are in the playoffs and now they know who they’ll be playing.

The Blues grabbed the very last postseason berth for the USL playoffs on Saturday, after beating Colorado Springs Switchbacks 4-0 and getting some help from the two teams ahead of them in the standings coming into the night, San Antonio FC and Portland Timbers 2.

So what comes next? The playoffs, of course.

The match-up is set: The OC Blues will head up to Bonney Field to take on Western Conference top seed Sacramento Republic next Saturday, October 1, at 7:30 pm PT, in the first round of the USL playoffs.

The Blues’ regular season finale win actually helped Sac Republic, too, as it paved the way for them to take 1st place once and for all in the West. So the Blues had a hand in both sides of their playoff destiny.

Their next quest? To win a playoff game. Being the 8 seed taking on a 1 seed is not going to be easy at all, but Orange County’s improbable night on Saturday to reach the playoffs opens the door for a new goal: Win the first playoff game in club history.
