How to Watch Vancouver Whitecaps 2 vs. Orange County SC

Orange County SC wrap up their season on Friday with another road trip to British Columbia to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.

The game will cap a disappointing season for both teams, who miss out on the playoffs this year. And while OCSC will want to end their campaign on a high, the game may actually be more significant on the other side, as Vancouver are reportedly mooting the possibility of folding WFC2 after this and simply setting up a partnership with an existing independent USL team from next year.

In that way, it would perhaps be kind of churlish to want to see Orange County get a win here, since even though Whitecaps 2 are definitely a reserve team for the organization’s MLS side, it still sucks to watch a dead team play out the string, if the report of the team’s demise is to be believed.

But anyway. From an Orange County perspective, they’ll still want to pick up three points to end the season on a positive note. Even if they couldn’t get to the postseason and make a run to a trophy this year, the players are surely playing for their futures, and a poor result would be a bummer.

So this will probably be a weird one. But here’s hoping it’s a good game, regardless.
