One relationship that is vital to a successful soccer team is a center back pairing (if you’re playing four defenders, of course) who work well together. I’m sure there are exceptions in history, of CBs who couldn’t stand each other but played well together nonetheless, but it seems a good bet that happy defenders equals a better shot at a successful defense.
Following two blockbuster trades this week by MLS expansion team Los Angeles Football Club that landed experienced center backs Walker Zimmerman and Laurent Ciman, it appears the duo is very much warming up to the idea of playing together for the black-and-gold.
Can’t wait to get to work with you @LaurentCiman23 https://t.co/nJ2aBcu3Mp

me too but do not worry ... we will work very hard to become the best central defense of the league and to have a lot of fun

It looks like a budding bromance! I kid, I kid.
But on a positive note, it appears Ciman has fully come around on the trade to LAFC, after it quickly emerged that his previous team, the Montreal Impact, had not mentioned any potential trade ahead of the deal being made on Tuesday, and that had left him peeved. But he’s been more positive and has been retweeting LAFC stuff today, so it seems like we don’t need to worry about him threatening not to move to California or anything, which is great!
